Join Us! As Jason Reynolds from the Columbiana County Soil and
Water Conservation District presents Coyotes! Jason will be giving a
short presentation on Urban Coyotes. He will discuss some of the ecological
characteristics of coyotes. He will also talk about conflicts between
coyotes and humans, as well as management possibilities to deal with these
conflicts.
This event will be in the Salchow Room, and Registration is Required! Call

Mad Science of Northeast Ohio
Science Workshops
Friday, June 28th, 2013

Mad Science of Northeast Ohio will present a workshop for preschoolers and kids in grades K – 4.
Each one-hour workshop includes hands-on experimentation to keep kids engaged as they learn
about science. Pre-registration is required and group size is limited to 20 per session.
Program Descriptions:
Dinosaur: We will turn your preschoolers into assistant paleontologists with a mini dinosaur
dig that will engage their attention, as well as their scientific skills.
All that Matters: Color changes, bubbles and precipitates…Oh my! Join us as we delve into
the world of matter and how it changes in this hands-on laboratory.
Workshops are offered during the following times on Friday, June 28th for each age group:
11:00 am: Preschool Session on Dinosaurs
1:00 pm: Grades K-4 Session on All that Matters
2:30 pm: Grades K-4 Session on All that Matters

“Dig into Reading!”

Kids in grades K - 4 are invited to join the “Dig into READING!” Summer Reading Program.
Programs will be held Wednesdays June 5– July 24 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm. Come REGISTER
and make a CRAFT on WEDNESDAY JUNE 5th from 11:00 am – 12:00pm.

“Wee Read Program!"

Children ages 2-5 who have not been to Kindergarten can earn prizes when they join our
“Wee Read” Preschool Reading Program this summer. This program is designed to encourage
parents and their preschoolers to increase the amount of time they read together. Come
to the Youth Services Department anytime beginning June 3rd to pick up a reading record
and for more information.
