MyHeritage Genealogy Database Now Available
The Columbiana Public Library is pleased to announce that the MyHeritage genealogy database is now available. Patrons may access this database from the library and from home.
Some of the features of this research database include:

  • More than 5 billion historical records from all over the world

  • The USA federal census (1790 - 1940) with images

  • 816 million U.S. public records

  • More than 80 million historical photographs

    (Note: You will have to scroll down and click on MyHeritage Library Edition. To access this database from home, please use the following credentials: User ID: clmbiana and Password: password.)

    Scavenger Hunt Winner

    A Travelogue of the Ingalls' Homesites

    Please join us in welcoming Judy Green, as she presents the story behind the story and we journey together to the different houses Laura Ingalls Wilder (author of the Little House on the Prairie books) and her family called home on their journey west.     Computer Classes
    Join us at the Columbiana Public Library for summer computer classes on how to use Microsoft Excel, use your smart phone or tablet computer as a camera, and engage in social networking / social media.
    Registration begins July 20th. Please check the calendar for the times/dates for each course.
    • Excel Level 1 - This class will introduce you to the basics of Microsoft Excel.

    • Excel Level 2 - This class will build upon Excel Level 1, and will involve working with data. You do not have to attend Excel Level 1 to attend this class.

    • Social Networking for Personal Enrichment - This class will introduce you to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. Prerequisites: Internet Part I or prior Internet experience.

    • Using your cell phone or tablet computer as a camera - Learn how to take good, in-focus photos with your smart device. Also, discover many neat photo apps and services that will allow you to do creative things with your photos. There are Andorid-only and iOS / Apple-only sections of this class.

    Some of our 70 subsriptions have added video or web content. What's great is there is no waiting list, they are always available!
